The rear-foot-elevated squat primarily loads the front leg. This variation uses a barbell.

Steps

Place a bench or box about 30–45 cm high behind you and take the bar onto your upper back. Rest one foot on the bench and place the other firmly on the floor about 60–90 cm ahead. Brace your abs and slowly descend by bending the front knee and hip. Stay balanced over the front foot without tipping onto your toes. Lower to a controlled depth, pause and stand. Switch legs.
